Empatico bridges the gap between your request for assistance and what our employees can offer. We bring people and cultures together. You receive the support you need, at the same time you offer the employee a unique opportunity to get acquainted with a new culture. That requires extremely careful matching. Before, but also during the service, there is regular contact between you, your caregiver and Empatico. Together we ensure that all expectations are met.
Empatico is the solution if:
- you want to continue living independently, even if you – temporarily – need help. Because of changing legislation, care homes exclusively target vulnerable people and elderly that need intensive help. The bar that decides if you can get nursing care/counselling is getting higher and higher.
- you prefer to rely as little as possible on your children or other volunteers. Asking for help on a regular basis makes you dependent, you prefer to organize your life yourself.
- you realize that there will be a moment when you cannot do it all on your own anymore.
- you know that your qualities and energy can reach their full potential with some assistance.
Our employees
Your caregiver comes from a country where assisting and respecting the elderly are of paramount importance. That can be a European or Asian country. We recruit in countries where service and care are important values and where living in someone else’s home is not uncommon. We know the cultures that fit the Dutch culture. Our employees receive an intake interview in their own environment, are tested for suitability and prepared for training. They speak English or German. Our services cover a period of 1 month to 1 year. Once a month all foreign caregivers meet at Empatico. They then share information about the Netherlands and Dutch culture.
The first contact

If you are interested, we will arrange a meeting, preferably at your home, where our employee will soon offer you assistance. We would like to hear from you what it means for you to have someone in your home, what matters are important to you and what requirements you and we have. If this is the solution for you, then the initial selection of candidates starts.
Empatico is familiar with the qualities of all its employees. Based on your wishes and preferences, a selection is made, and the suitable candidates receive information about you. The content of this information has been agreed with you in advance. If there is a match, the candidate is selected. The three most suitable candidates present themselves via videophone. You can see and speak with them, you make your own choice as to who suits you and your situation best.
In your service contract we will record with you when the employee starts and for how long you want to use the service. Not only before, but also during the agreement, we maintain regular contact with you as well as with your caregiver.
